THE 1993 HALLOWEEN MCNUGGET BUDDIES MANAGERS SUMMARY GUIDE!

SO, I FOUND THIS SWEET POSTER ON EBAY..

GRIMEY

Here’s something I’ve been ABSOLUTELY DYING to show off since July 1st, but held off until we were in the thick of the spooky season.

I had no idea exactly what I was bidding on (it’s decent sized and has a lot of details that were hard to see on an eBay listing). I hadn’t seen it before so, no matter what it was, it was coming home to me! Here, I thought it was a placemat… turns out, it’s a manager’s guide for the 1993 Halloween McNugget Buddies Happy Meal…BOY OH BOY, what a treat!

Right away, the colors and choice of font for some of the bigger portions are breathtaking! First, we see a list of contents for the display and a slew of directions.

Bullet one under Oct 2: Display crew poster in crew room near focal point…. I can’t help but think how amped up seeing this poster hanging in a McDonald’s office would have made me had I been a burger flipper at the time.

Feel free to read the rest of the bullets yourself. Let’s get to that fantastic McNugget Buddy Display!

Week 1 would consist of Pumpkin McNugget and Monster McNugget. I’m just going to say it now; out of all the Halloween McNugget Buddies, Monster McNug is my fav. They’re all great, it’s just that he’s the best. You can’t tell from this artwork but if you’ve seen the guy, he’s got a green head, blue eye shadow and purple clothes; dare I say the perfect aesthetic?

Week 2 would include Mummie and McNuggula McNuggets. I’ll admit, while my love and affinity lies with Monster McNugget, McNuggula has the funnest name.

And, of course, Week 3 includes Whitchie and McBoo. They really stress me out with week three because of this under 3 premium toy - throwing around words like SAFETY, GOVERNMENT and REQUIRED. Listen, literally all of these toys can be safely enjoyed by a newborn. Also, I love that anytime there’s a ghost involved with McDonalds, it’s automatically named McBoo!

After speaking with a few people who know a thing or two about, or worked heavily with McDonald’s, I’ve come to find that these posters are fairly rare pieces - ESPECIALLY this black and white version. Mainly because the only way they made it out of the restaurant was either

  1. in a garbage can, or

  2. some random crew member had a thing for McDonald’s memorabilia and took it home.

So, HUGE THANKS to whatever thoughtful soul rescued this thing from it’s demise; I am eternally grateful and will protect it with my life for years to come. Thanks for reading!
